UNITED 2026

For the first time in history, FIFA’s Member Associations were given the opportunity to vote on the host for the FIFA World Cup. On June 13, 2018 during the 68th FIFA Congress in Moscow, the opportunity to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup was awarded to the United Bid between Canada, Mexico and the United States over Morocco. This marked the first time three nations have been selected to co-host a FIFA World Cup and it will be the largest tournament in history, which will be expanded to a 48-team format. FIFA will select up to 16 cities from the current 23 host city candidates.
